Planned Parenthood of Southern New England | STARS Peer Educators

Planned Parenthood of Southern New England engaged Eyeglue to create multiple deliverables centered around recruiting a new generation of peer educators. PPSNE struggled with recruitment after the post pandemic-era shutdowns of schools and in-person meetings derailed their most popular recruitment tactic, word of mouth.

STARS (Students Teaching About Responsible Sexuality) is a high school peer education program. STARS educate their friends, peers, family, and community about sexual and reproductive health and rights and connects people to Planned Parenthood services.

The deliverables included a long-form explanation of their STARS peer educator program, and short-form cut-down ads to be delivered on Snap and TikTok.

Through pre-production, it was important to hone in on prompting questions to draw answers from students about the program, the passion, and how they felt that their work impacted their communities.

The simple production style (a single DP and one producer), and visual setup allowed for not only a fun, bouncy final edit but, more importantly, for the stories of the students to take center stage.
